The launch of Africa’s Sports & Creative Early Stage Investor Network marks a groundbreaking moment. It bridges the gap between capital and creativity, unlocking new investment opportunities while strengthening Africa’s position as a global leader in innovation and culture.

If we truly want to build a globally competitive ecosystem, we must push harder for blended financing. This should not just be upfront capital, but also post-financing support that helps entrepreneurs thrive after the deal is signed.

Whether it be financial inclusion, food independence, mobility, or access to affordable and quality health, we need to do more and develop collaborative approaches between angel groups, catalytic financing, as well as paths to exit for investors. I am honored to join an exceptional group of people and keen to contribute my personal experience in creating a stronger ecosystem with the management team of ABAN and the new Board members, and continue the work that has been so successfully done to date.

As President of the Business Angels Association of Cabo Verde (ABAC) and an active supporter of entrepreneurship, I have witnessed the transformative impact that early-stage investment can have on startups and economic development.
